Use the research. Don't rebuild the dataset.

Research a market, evaluate a product, size a category, and support your own decisions. You may use the research inside your company for internal business purposes.

You may quote a figure in an article, a deck or a pitch, provided you attribute it to Magellan Tools and keep the measurement period attached — a number separated from the window it was measured in will be wrong sooner than you expect. You may connect the API or the MCP server to your own research workflow.

Do not use the research to build target lists for spam, phishing, credential attacks or bulk unsolicited outreach; to harass, dox or coordinate action against a listed company or the people behind it; to impersonate or counterfeit a product listed here; or in any way that infringes another party's rights.

Do not misrepresent what we measured. Presenting a figure as current when its measurement window has passed, altering a value, or attributing to us a claim the data does not support — in a pitch, a prospectus, a marketplace listing or an advertisement — is a breach of this policy, and it is the misuse most likely to harm someone who relied on it.

Do not use the service for anything unlawful in the jurisdiction you are in or the one you are targeting; in violation of applicable sanctions or export-control programmes, including access from a comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction; or to further fraud, money laundering or the evasion of financial-crime controls.

You must be 18, or the age of majority where you live, and have the capacity to enter the Terms. Provide accurate account and billing information, and do not misrepresent who you are or who you are buying for.

Pay only with a payment method you are authorised to use. Using a stolen or unauthorised card, or testing card numbers against our checkout, ends access immediately. If you do not recognise a charge, or the data did not answer your question, write to us — the refund terms are on the checkout page and it takes one email. Raising a chargeback on a charge you recognise, without contacting us first, is a breach of this policy.

One account per person. A Pro subscription is for the subscriber and their organisation's internal use — not a credential passed around, resold, sublicensed or rented. Do not create additional free accounts to get past the free row allowance or the record budget, and do not share API keys: a key belongs to one account and can be revoked.

Do not rebuild the dataset. Bulk extraction, scraping the rendered pages, systematic downloading, and paging the API to reconstruct the corpus are the same act, whatever tool performs it.

Do not redistribute it as data — republished, mirrored, syndicated, or exposed through your own product or API as a substitute for a subscription — and do not use data obtained here to train or fine-tune a model that reproduces the dataset. Presenting measured values as your own measurement is prohibited whether or not the data is redistributed.

Automated access is welcome — the API and the MCP server exist for it, and they return the same measurements the site does. Scripting the website instead of using them is not: it costs more, breaks on any layout change, and is indistinguishable from the bulk extraction prohibited above.

Access runs under limits that apply to everyone: a request ceiling per IP address and per account over a rolling window, a cap on concurrent requests, and a budget of unique products you may retrieve per day and per month. The website, the API and the MCP server draw on that same budget, so moving between them does not reset it. Every request is logged. Patterns consistent with bulk extraction are slowed first and blocked after.

Do not probe, scan or test the security of the service; attempt to reach another user's account or data; interfere with availability for other readers; or reverse engineer the service to reconstruct how a measurement is produced.

If you find a vulnerability, write to us before testing it any further. We will not pursue a good-faith report made that way, and we would rather hear it from you than read it in a log.

We publish measurements of publicly observable signals about public websites, presented as research and carrying the period they were measured in. We publish nothing that would require access to a product's private systems.

Write to us to request a correction, an update, or removal from the published index, and say which product you speak for. What we will not do is change a measured value because it is unflattering: a measurement that moves on request is not a measurement, and the site would be worth less to every reader if it did.

Enforcement is graduated and mostly automatic: requests over the limits are slowed, then temporarily blocked. Beyond that we may revoke an API key, suspend an account, or end access. Where we can say what triggered it we will, and there is a way back — write to us.

Access ended for a deliberate breach is not refunded for the remainder of the period. Payments are handled by our merchant of record; a breach of this policy may be reported to them, and their own terms apply to the payment itself. Updates to this policy appear on this page with a new last-updated date.
